- פָּרָה is the verb of פְּרִי "fruit" (v. 11–12, 29), so the blessing on the creatures uses the plants' word. רָבָה is to be or become many (Gen 6:1; Exod 1:7, 10), the verb of Israel's growth in Egypt; "multiply" turns a state into an act
