Genesis 7
1 Then the LORD said to Noah, "Come into the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you are just before me in this generation. 2 Take with you every pure beast by sevens, a male and its mate. Of the beasts that are not pure, take two, a male and its mate. 3 Also take the flying creatures of the sky by sevens, male and female, to keep seed alive on the face of all the land. 4 For in seven more days I will send rain on the land for 40 days and 40 nights. I will wipe off the face of the ground every standing thing that I made." 5 Noah did everything the LORD commanded him. 6 Noah was 600 years old, and the flood came, waters on the land. 7 Noah went into the ark with his sons, his wife, and his sons' wives, to escape the waters of the flood. 8 Of the pure beasts and the beasts that are not pure, of the flying creatures, and of everything that creeps on the ground,
9 two by two they came to Noah into the ark, male and female, as God commanded Noah. 10 After the seven days, the waters of the flood were on the land. 11 In the 600th year of Noah's life, on the 17th day of the second month, on that day all the springs of the vast deep burst open, and the lattices of the sky were opened. 12 The downpour fell on the land for 40 days and 40 nights. 13 On that very day Noah went into the ark, with his sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and with Noah's wife and the three wives of his sons. 14 They went in, and with them every kind of wild animal, every kind of beast, every kind of creeping thing that creeps on the land, and every kind of flying creature, every bird of every wing. 15 Two by two they came to Noah into the ark, from all flesh that has a spirit of life in it. 16 Those that went in were male and female from all flesh, as God had commanded him. Then the LORD shut him in.
17 The flood went on for 40 days on the land. The waters grew many and lifted the ark, and it rose high above the land. 18 The waters were mighty and grew very many on the land, and the ark went along on the face of the waters. 19 The waters were very, very mighty on the land, and all the lofty mountains under the whole sky were covered. 20 The waters were mighty fifteen cubits upward, and the mountains were covered. 21 All flesh that moved on the land breathed its last: flying creatures, beasts, wild animals, every swarm that swarms on the land, and every human. 22 Everything on the parched land that had the breath of a spirit of life in its nostrils died. 23 He wiped out every standing thing on the face of the ground: humans, beasts, creeping things, and the flying creatures of the sky. They were wiped off the land. Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark. 24 The waters were mighty on the land for 150 days.
